Don't most of them give it to charity. I'm talking about that money you give at regular churches.
like that basket thing or something. I haven't been to my church in long time
Either way, I wish we could at least get rid of the megachurches.

Typically, churches whose congregation measures in the thousands any given sunday. Like this:

Not in the same amount as non-profits or actual charities.

Continuation where I left off. Take the Catholic church for example. They collect the money and
then loan it out to the churches, schools, w/e on an as need basis. The local Catholic school
runs a carnival for three days every Feb. before Lent. All money is donated to the School. The
School gives it to the diocese. Then if they need the money the diocese has to deem the school
worthy of w/e repairs it needs. The same goes for all tuitions. Plus they get federal funding to
actually run the school (meal programs, gov't. subsidizing on everything. No taxes due to it
being religious in nature).

Now, as long as the system works that's not so bad I guess. You're fucking over the people who
are giving you money by demanding interest, but what do I care I'm not Catholic anymore.
The problem is, the church doesn't always give back the money. A little church in New Hradec, ND
(St. Peter & Paul iirc) collected money for a new AC and Heater because their was busted. Took
them about 3 years of passing the plate and drives and whatnot. They finally got all the money
together. After a few months, the diocese replied back that the church was inelligible for a loan
due to the fact that they are not an important congregation.
Take of it what you will.
