Look it up if you want, but the short version is that Orpheus was the god of music and got married to Eurydice, but immediately after their wedding, she died, and Orpheus was so miserable that he stormed hell with music so beautiful that the various defenses that Hades has just broke down in adoration of his song. He struck a deal allowing him to return with Eurydice's soul if he could walk all the way back without looking back at her, or else she would die a second death and return permanently to hell. Well, of course, he couldn't resist, so he lost Eurydice.
