>> [_] Anon 3317451 I don't get it.
>> [_] Anon 3317455 >># In postmodern times, providing better products and services and reducing the total hours people need to work for the products and services they consume is somehow a BAD thing.
>> [_] Anon 3317461 >># I meant I didn't get the gameplay. But I actually won without automation so I don't know if there is or isn't a negative political message about this game.
>> [_] Anon 3317508 >># It's basically a very naive promotion of communism. One that falls flat if you go paragon route, not investing in automation at all, trying to keep all your employees happy and paid, and only trying to avoid bankruptcy so that the entire company doesn't suffer. It ends one of two ways. Bankruptcy, or the little shits riot and then just go about doing the same fucking thing they were doing, but without pay while singing like a bunch of hippies.
>> [_] Anon 3317518 >># How do you win? What happens?
>> [_] Anon 3317526 You can reach retirement if you get automation rolling ASAP. I recommend rushing out servers and once you get at least 4 you can start building the factory machines. Just throw the little shits that don't actually wanna work in jail. I managed to keep one actual engineer and myself, while everyone else gets shafted for being the little pussies they are.
>> [_] Anon 3317528 >># >How do you win? Get the yellow cylinder to fill up to max. The game states the number of products sold at the end so I guess winning with the least amount the better. You basically retire. Simply don't go bankrupt (tube drops to zero) or get killed by the hiring line mice. >># The game doesn't force you to automate though despite that being "easier". To win without automation you simply have to "fire" the mice that are either being "lazy" and demanding more cheese(happens when they are happy/not dark) or sabotaging the research or product (determined by sound effects, misshapen cubes, and the mice that do it are unhappy). If a mouse is sabotaging production or attacking the building with a stick you can put them in jail by dragging them to the glass enclosure. In time some imprisoned mice will be happy again and rehired. It seems research prefers to be paid more than labor and that dragging unhappy labor mice to research via promotion can make them happy. Mice that are angry and begging for hire or a pay up should be listened too or they will damage your shit. Lazy mice can get canned without fear because they'll demand to be paid at 1 cheese again. It might definitely have some sort of cheap communist message with the thematic of the game but whoever programmed it definitely didn't force you to fuck over the work force for muh greedy capitalism unless he thinks property destruction and company sabotage are worker's rights.
>> [_] Anon 3317530 >># You can't imprison mice that aren't damaging property or committing sabotage.

>> [_] Anon 3285127 what a bunch of ungrateful dummies
>> [_] Anon 3285135 >># Fucking insurrections. What am I supposed to do if I already have enough employees?
>> [_] Anon 3285143 I got to retirement with only 92 units sold by always paying the workers the lowest amount and firing anyone who wanted more before rehiring them when they wanted jobs. It's a precarious balancing act though because towards the end my jail filled the bottom row.
>> [_] Anon 3285146 >># what is the jail and how do you access it? or are you just talking about the bottom/blue row?
>> [_] Anon 3285148 >># you can drag mice who are acting out to the cat on the job line and it puts them in a jail to cool off. You can only do it with mice that are banging on the cieling, making defective products or setting back research. The last run I did of this I replaced all my research with computers and somehow managed to get it done in 100 units sold. Again, a lot of mice in jail towards the end.
>> [_] Anon 3285151 210 units sold but everyone got laid off and replaced with machines. I feel like an asshole.
>> [_] Anon 3285156 >># Capitalism.
>> [_] The Jew 3285158 36 units sold. I didn't even need that many, but I felt like making all of the automated builders instead of the minimum I needed, so demand fell before I made a new innovation, so every tick I'd sell one unit, but once I finished automation of the factory line and got a new product, the demand in the market exploded and I retired at a young age with a pretty profit. The worthless mice built me one computer and the rest was simple.
>> [_] Anon 3285159 if you fill the jail to the point you can't see anyone to recruit, it prevents insurrection. The are downsides to this, but if you have some automation you can basically just fire everyone and slowly win that way.
>> [_] Anon 3285160 >># Finally 21 before retirement. Fuck trying to be a good boss, automation and sending everyone to jail is the way to go.
>> [_] Anon 3285165 28 units sold. If you drag a mouse to the research team, a little bit of the research bar will be filled even if he is not fed. Remove him from the team, then put him back and a little more will be filled. Keep doing this and you can research without feeding your mice.
>> [_] Anon 3285169 >># Nice tip, Anon. Sadly it wasn't enough to get a retirement at 20 units. It seems that 21 is the absolute minimum.
>> [_] Anon 3285181 Automated blue collar and mouse white collar masterrace

>> [_] Anon 3276638 This gets ridiculously easy once you fill up the jail. You can fill up the jail immediately after building one coding computer and one factory bot with no consequences. Kinda curious if anyone ever beat it without using the automation, 'cause after a while I just end up filling the jail with my employees and poor people while the last coder scripts himself out of a job.

When the game starts make a ton of computers, when a mouse enters the bottom screen put em to the top, once a computer is made replace a mouse with a computer and send that mouse to red zone. Once you have all computers repeat with the crane by Sending the rats to the bottom. If they bang of the ceiling, put em in jail by dragging em to the left of the bouncer. Once you have all computers and cranes, just wait for a mouse to bang on the ceiling and drag his ass in jail. If done correctly u should have all computers and cranes with all the mice in jail, then u just upgrade your product until u win. (P.S If the bottom line is full u can still drag mice to that area.

>> [_] Anon 2865483 Fill up the computer row as quickly as you can, both with hires and developing servers. You'll want to put one or two mice on the assembly line, because orders keep going up even with the first product. Once the computer row is full, start working on assembly bots. And once that's done, start replacing the computer workers then the assembly workers. When one of the mice stops working or demands more, toss them in jail or just outside and hire a new one. You'll want all the mice in jail at some point, just so they can't wreck stuff by hitting the ceiling. I've managed to get it in 114, where lower seems better. (It means finishing earlier.)

>> [_] Anon 2495648 So either I focus on workforce and go bankrupt, or focus on mechanising and have a revolution? Capitalism, man.
>> [_] Anon 2495655 >># Research hard, automate workforce fast (but not so fast that you dont research and the demand goes below production. Imprison workers that start smacking on roof (drag them into the cat with nightstick). Essentially, exactly what happens now.

The problem is if you fire them they organize a fucking attack you you. unlike in reality where if you bitch about your wage enough to make the company go bankrupt, your ass gets fired and thats it. I fucking hate mice now.
>> [_] Anon 2495658 >># oh shit thank you!
>> [_] Anon 2495664 >># Ok, found a solution. Only hire new workers. Keep the first R&D mouse on 1 dot, then up him temporarily when he complains before reverting to 1 dot. He won't take this forever, but I was able to get the 3rd product with no dent in my bank and no production at all. When he breaks, swap him out and jail him. Just like that. The new mouse will work just as hard for one dot until he too breaks. Rinse and repeat for all mice until only machines are working. I never went above 3 dots doing this, and that was for 1 pay check. So evil but so effective.
>> [_] Anon 2495688 Retire rich as fuck ok
>> [_] Anon 2495699 >># Here's a better solution: Immediately put the production worker into the unemployment line after you gain full control. Pay the researcher his shitty one dot salary to research a computer. Once the computer is done, put it to work researching other computers. Take the researcher and put him in the unemployment line. Research computers until the row is full. Then proceed to research automated producers until the row is full. Jail every non-automated worker. Sit back and relax as you cruise to retirement on a three-dot investment in a computer and a healthy dose of sociopathy.
>> [_] Anon 2495700 Only thinking about the game, wouldn't a feeding bar for the unemployed row make us able to get to automation? Outside of the game, the parallel would be negative income tax, though of course the game oversimplifies the situation.
>> [_] Anon 2495704 Why do I always end up with boxes piling up and not getting added to the food surplus?

>> [_] Anon 2495744 Where does the demand come from when everyone is in jail?
>> [_] Anon 2495747 >># I just got 22, but I think 21 would be possible and possibly the lowest you could score, seeing as 6 is the highest you could research. I think I paid the lowest possible wage of 3, but I can't remember if a unit was accidentally sold at 1 dot or not. Does anyone know how many dots you must accumulate to retire?

>> [_] Anon 2495755 >># haha... yea.. works great! didnt think of that solution.. actually.. i wanted to play as long as possible.. so i sent some in to work
>> [_] Anon 2495756 >># because you can only pay a few in a run. you have to make more research in new products.
>> [_] Anon 2495757 >># 20 is the min http://youtu.be/SLMSMoCGrLo enjoy
>> [_] Anon 2495758 >># >unlike in reality where if you bitch about your wage enough to make the company go bankrupt, your ass gets fired and thats it. No, that's pretty much portrayed in the game aswell. If a workers complain too much in the game and stars sabotaging, then you just fire them. (or raise their salary) And of course if they get fired, they'll get violent.
>> [_] Anon 2495761 >># There is a greyed out box for each "year/season" you can only sell that many per each yeah. It is your demand level. It goes down if you dont research new products for a while.
>> [_] Anon 2495762 >># >I act like a dick towards my job, how dare you fire me?!
>> [_] Anon 2495766 >># here Initial money is 80 and your goal is 200. As far as I know, unsold boxes are sold for reduced price, if there are any, when you research new box.
>> [_] Anon 2495788 >># Either you've never had a job, or I want you to work for me.
>> [_] Anon 2495793 >># I think the less you sell before retirement is better because you were able to sell cost effectively meaning productivity was high and time spent was low.

You need to keep researching or the demand will only be one box per period; once you get a new product the demand bar is full and it decreases by one box every period, I believe. If you fully automate everything and fire all the workers you won't have to worry about losing money each period and can just research and sell boxes until you win. That is a hard fact you cannot change without murdering a good 25-50% of the global population outright. If we all had molecular printers and could create new resources out of raw materials at will using them, then Communism (or some form of it) could work. Emphasis could. The problem with CAPITALISM is the snowball effect. We're seeing the result of the snowball effect these days especially, where people either hit a 'critical mass' point with their money that means they will never be without that ludicrous amount of money again, or they never hit that point and are subject to the boom-bust cycle of the economy, potentially meeting financial ruin every nth year just because the world said so.

If other people were willing to generate "wealth" to give it to us in trade for these fun things that we were making, then who are we to stop them? We can always make more for ourselves, and what they give us in trade can be traded for other things we want. Other parties could have just made the things they wanted as well instead of buying shit from the one party that did take the time.
>> [_] Anon 2388659 >># Both have their advantages and disadvantages. Communism is a fantastic system for small groups of people dedicated to it, as they CAN have enough for all of them. True it can't work on a mass scale but that doesn't make it badwrongevil the way capitalists seem to think it is. Capitalism on the other hand produces ultra wealthy assholes who horde their wealth instead of putting it to use while others get trampled underfoot barely able to get by each day until they eventually die of exhaustion of starvation. It's not like a system has to be applicable to the entire fucking planet right now to be worth something.
>> [_] Anon 2388661 >># >Other parties could have just made the things they wanted as well instead of buying shit from the one party that did take the time. Eventually Mao was able to win their civil war, but only by beating Chang who was a brutal fascist. So no, China never really had the option of becoming a productive capitalistic country until very recently
>> [_] Anon 2388679 >># China could have adopted capitalism; they chose to act arrogantly and try to boss the West around, and got fucking wrecked because the world had moved on from gunpowder and rockets. I was even making a good bit of profit (though it got dicey about halfway through). but at some point the game arbitrarily decided there was absolute insurrection! I appreciate the concept, but this game is very much flawed, both as a game and as a political statement.
>> [_] Anon 2388805 >># Ah, okay, I just realized what the deal is; there's inherently a 'kill-screen' because there's not 100% employment, because there's 0 operations growth by the company while there's basically infinite population growth over time. I neglected to notice that the fractures are also caused by unemployment, so you're destined to lose regardless of how ethical or fairly you operate your business. Basically if you play the game well enough, the ending is then 5 unemployed guys killing the research and work forces, automating their positions, imprisoning a small business owner, and dancing in the streets. I'm going to assume that that's not really what was supposed to happen, what with the whole 'better mousetrap', cat and mouse angle.
>> [_] Anon 2388807 >># I inevitably ended up automating, I would like to keep man power as I enjoy handcrafted products. >> [_] Anon 2388812 >># If we could make the entire thing automated then we'd have a way to produce and sell, while the firm will pay taxes to keep the unemployed not working. This would be startrek, too bad it'll never happen.
