Here's some ideas for the long run:
A LIFE BAR.
Dying fucking blows and it's so easy to die.
Put some Upgrades in this (shields, speed, bullet size, etc...).
If you do the life bar, put health packs.
A booster to help evade bullets.
Customizable colors
Rooms!
You're off to a great start. I have a feeling this game is going to turn out awesome.

Right now it is very lag. Adding more features will make it even lagger.
