at level 100 mastery you can rebirth, levels 10, 20 and 40 in hardcoreness unlock things, using
the level 10 one, removes 10 levels from hardcoreness and so on

That's just what happens; you can't gain more than one level per strike so eventually you
overflow your XP counter and just start gaining one level every hit.
