just checked out the you tube vid. its better quality so you can tell its faked with cg. still
freaking awesome though

i love how everyone's saying "its been proved fake" but noone is linking to any kind of proof.
it's very much possible that it's real. a sudden release of compressed air? not exactly magic.
though i think the lamp and shelf should start moving a little bit sooner it's possible that it's
just one of those things that you'd think should be a certain way but actually is another
so please link to the proof that this is fake, just for the hell of it. people in the yewtube
comments says that this went viral a long time ago and has been disproved on many shows (!) so
presenting proof shouldnt be hard

and the desired response was obtained.
wonders what a sentence and a random link does to entertain me.

The closest Unrelenting Force shout will get in RL.
I prefer Fire Breath shout, since I can just sprint with my Spellbreaker raised and bash my way
across.
Yes, I managed to max the Block skill tree, and loving every bit of it.

I'd say the biggest issue I have with it is Newton's Third Law. It has enough force to throw a
full grown man off his feet and into a wall with its burst, why does the cannon itself not recoil
at all? How the fuck is that thing anchored down?
>> [_] Anonymous 12/07/11(Wed)11:51 No.1584842
It's not fake, you can see the fucking cannon they have set pointing at the door.

Huh? Do you mean to say something like "lolol i troll u" or do you think its strange that someone
wants proof?
>>1584839
Remember that it's not a projectile that is being pushed away, just air. Maybe it doesn't produce
as much recoil?
>>1584842
Just because you see something that looks like a canon it doesnt mean that it has to be a real
canon. =P
I still say this is plausable, but I'll respect those that think it's fake. Won't think it's fake
until that "proof" i keep hearing about is presented though.

>Remember that it's not a projectile that is being pushed away, just air. Maybe it doesn't

Force is force. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. To push that much force one way,
that much force is applied the other way.

It looked like it fired pieces of styrofoam to me instead of air.

A standing man isn't a solid block of mass. It's more like a lever anchored at the feet. Also
bendy lever that, if caught by surprise, will behave like a ragdoll when hit. The cannon can just
be anchored to the ground properly, it's not THAT much of a force if you ponder the mass of a
large metal pipe, a pressure canister, the whole setup. The force is equal in both directions but
it's a function of speed AND mass. So larger mass means lower speed and less recoil. Though
that's rather obvious, dunno why I'm using that as an argument. It's a completely plausible prank
as long as they had the time to actually set up a huge-ass pressurised air cannon in the doorway.
>> [_] Anonymous 12/07/11(Wed)14:27 No.1584869
You all are bypassing that IF this was real, this man would probably have sustained major back
and neck injuries and possibly been paralyzed for life, not only is it incredibly implausible
that his "friends" or even colleagues would want that, but like already stated, every force has
an equal and opposite opposing force. That force being the compressed air capable of propelling
an average sized man across a room relatively quickly. The cannon did not move an inch. also its
obviously shopped as seen in a higher resolution video, right as the scientist opens the door the
video skips as if it was cut to add effects.

>Faked
nobody notices the air-cannon looking thing the people were standing by, it was probably just a
practical joke or something
>> [_] Anonymous 12/07/11(Wed)17:46 No.1584917

Still the air cannon should have at least moved in SOME fashion, unless it was perfectly anchored
there.
>> [_] Anonymous 12/07/11(Wed)19:02 No.1584940
Anyone who thinks the pranked guy should have been injured has never been hit by a car and walked
away relatively unscratched (sore yes)
Also, why WOULDN'T they be able to, or want to fix a cannon that fires compressed air, anything
else is just stupid when screwing around.
>> [_] Anonymous 12/07/11(Wed)20:52 No.1584963
The people who are convinced this is a shop because the cannon doesn't move are obviously
unacquainted with the force of friction. Take a look at the cannon - although its hard to say
exactly how large it is, and how much each of the individual components weigh, we can make some
assumptions.
Using the man on the left as a guide, its safe to assume the construction is approximately 4 feet
tall, maybe a bit less. There's a large pressure vessel at the rear of the device, and that alone
would likely weigh at least 7-10 kilos. Adding the rest of the device into account, I think a
fair estimate of its mass would be maybe 20 kg, and that's being conservative.
Assuming its a prank and they didn't want to actually kill their colleague, the actual force used
is probably low, and the projectile appears to be styrofoam, obviously a low mass material. Its
pretty easy to see that the sheer size of the device and its friction would likely prevent its
recoil.

(cont.)
If you don't believe me, youtube some Mythbusters. They've used a very similar air cannon
multiple times, and FAR greater pressures - no recoil, and its not anchored.

Doesn't matter, youtubers are stupid, everything is fake because its better to be wrong while
calling it fake than to be wrong while calling it real.
