This speech really needs to be an educational requirement. At some point, you need to be exposed
to it. Even if you don't care, or think it's gay or stupid or too self righteous or just plain
wrong, you need to hear it. If all we see is the worst this world has to offer then we will never
aspire to anything greater.
We need to hear these words, to have them enter our minds and plant the seeds of that hope, that
grand dream. We need to know that we can be more than selfish brutes, concerned solely for our
own wellfare at the expense of others. We need to look outward as well as in and know that every
other human being holds the same potential as ourselves, with only circumstance seperating us.
We need these words. We need them to make us realize, even for an instant, that we are all
brothers and sisters, that we are all people, worthy of the same rights and opportunities as any
other human being.

I agree with you, but unfortunately, not enough of the world's youth would even care to listen to
it's message, let alone even sit though it. When you were a kid, were you interested in speeches
and politics? I know that I wasn't. I was more concerned with cartoons, video games, and going
outside. It's just sad that it took me until I was 26 to really understand this message, and to
even care about it. In my opinion, that's a little too late for someone to get that message. Not
that it matters, there will always be another, younger, more outrageous generation that will
refuse to listen to these things altogether.
tl;dr
I agree. The youth doesn't care though.

When it pans to Albert Einstein and discusses cleverness without humanity it fails to mention
that he had a strong humanitarian philosophy behind his use of science.
"Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot
understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and
courageously uses his intelligence."
"Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of
genius -- and a lot of courage -- to move in the opposite direction."
So that's technically incorrect or at least disingenuous to portray Albert Einstein in that light.

the best part of this is. Chaplin was a SILENT film star when he started.
And he ended up here.
