They start off innocent playing around in a pool. The guy tries to kiss her, but she's afraid of what it may lead to. When she jumps in the pool, it's actually metaphoric for the guy fingering her and the girl being confused/afraid. Upon seeing the "monsters", the guy then pentrates her. She wants to escape this mentally. When she escapes to the other side, her eyes are blown out which is symbolic of her virginity being lost, thus losing her innocence. She has now entered the world of broken innocence. >> [_] Anonymous 03/03/12(Sat)03:31 No.1630089 makes me want to get into animation >> [_] Sage01 03/03/12(Sat)03:32 No.1630091 >>1630088 I can see your point, but it reminded me of lovercraft lore too much. >> [_] Anonymous 03/03/12(Sat)03:40 No.1630093 >>1630088 Thats deep yo >> [_] Anonymous 03/03/12(Sat)04:14 No.1630112 DEM ELDER GODS That was really cool. >> [_] Anonymous 03/03/12(Sat)04:14 No.1630113 >>1630088 And that's why I hate "art" not proper art but the constant usage of symbolism in obscure ways. It's neat but if the point is to convey something, you shouldn't hide under symbolism that only other "art" people will understand. Or if you do, do give it the general public. Now this animation is really good and I don't begrudge it for it's use of symbolism, since it can stand as an interesting piece of animation on it's own. I mostly hate still art that does this, and primarily abstracts. And my hatred for them taints my view of almost any "art" piece I see. >> [_] Anonymous 03/03/12(Sat)04:16 No.1630114 >>1630113 *shouldn't hide it* & *don't give it* Poor grammar on my part. >> [_] Anonymous 03/03/12(Sat)04:48 No.1630132 >>1630088 That's cool. I enjoyed this on its presented merits, Some sort of lovecraftian horrors from another dimension turning teenagers into deep ones. Then you went and started spewing out that "Oh well this is actually representative of this, and this ACTUALLY means this, which means there wheren't really any monsters and hurp a durp a deedly durp" FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU THE CREATORS OF THESE THINGS DID NOT THINK SO FAR AHEAD TO GO "hay, Lets make some scary monster shit thats symbolic of something totally unrelated just to troll people" Fuck you. >> [_] Anonymous 03/03/12(Sat)04:57 No.1630140 >>1630133 Bahaha! And this is why I switched from being an Art major. I got sick of the bullshit pretentious hipsters analyzing old art work as if the creator had intentionally embedded hundreds of symbolism/meanings in his piece as apart of some grand scheme. If you think that anon is annoying, then never attend an art history lecture. "hurr this piece was done in a manneristic-baroque style indicative of loyalty during exchange of sexual partnership and the water is representative of society encroaching degradation of moral ethnic values with pias offsets" i like this animation and song. i'd just like to believe there were aliens from another world that mind fucked these teens. /ok >> [_] Anonymous 03/03/12(Sat)05:04 No.1630143 fucking amazing >> [_] Anonymous 03/03/12(Sat)05:07 No.1630144 >>1630142 my friend is doing some shit for lit, I don't know what, and don't give a fuck, it's making him a pretentious shit like that. its for lit, but he's doing this to books, movies, cartoons, most random shit. >> [_] Anonymous 03/03/12(Sat)05:23 No.1630152 >>1630144 Ask him about Fahrenheit 451 and what it is about. If he talks about censorship, tell him he is wrong. The book is actually about the fact the author thought TV sucked. Seriously. People have tried to argue to his face about what his book is about, but he maintains he wrote it and it is about the fact he hated television. Another good example is the Robert Frost poem about stopping in the woods on a snowy evening. Lotta people interpret it as the narrator contemplating suicide. I even had a teacher who claimed that. Not true at all, on the basis of the opinion of the Robert Frost expert... Robert Frost. Frost has another poem that is a good example of this kind of thing, the two roads leading into the woods one. >> [_] Anonymous 03/03/12(Sat)05:23 No.1630153 >>1630144 Art. Alternately Who are you to think you know more than the creator of the piece? Who are you to even think you can know if or what they meant beyond what is presented? How could someone be so presumptuous. Or You speak of applicability yet say allegory. You don't even know what you mean by your own words; how can you know what the author means by his? >> [_] Anonymous 03/03/12(Sat)05:39 No.1630165 I does not matter what the author claims a piece of art is about. The question isn't about what the writer intended; it's about what the work means to the reader. I mean, if the work a perfect representation of the intentions of the writer, then you wouldn't NEED to analyze anything. Just as you can go for a simple walk, and take whatever precautions there may be taken, you never know if you'll end up being run over by a car or joining an awesome party being held on a nearby plaza. It's the same in this video.
