I guess you're talking about the button states:
Up - the state of the button when it isn't focused on
Over - the state of the button when it has focus (hovering the mouse over it or using tab)
Down - the state of the button when you click it
Hit - the area that triggers mouse events. When left empty, the visible area of the button is
where the button will react to hovering with your pointer over it and clicking it. However, if
you draw the hit area, then only that area will be used for mouse events (note that the hit area
is invisible on itself).
