Never bothers to ask how we actually got to the point where we could end global poverty and
hunger.

There's no magical answer, it goes without saying. Even utopian ideologies like communism make it
very clear that you have to break your back to even begin creating a resemblance of a better
society.
The point is to actually try and do something, as opposed to slacktivism and falling back on "i
got mine, fuck the rest" attitudes.
And yes, I'm well aware of my hypocrisy and how I'm an armchair revolutionary, let's get that out
of the way.

The thing they're ignoring is that we're only in a position to really do anything about poverty
and global hunger right now is solely because of a capitalist system. Or you can chose how ever
many words it takes to describe a system where it was done for profit.
And we ARE actually doing something about it. Even Africa enjoys a comparatively better mortality
rate than it has at any point in it's history.
The problem with capitalism is that there's no end game. It's an economic philosophy that can't
be reconciled with finite resources forever.

>we're only in a position to really do anything about poverty and global hunger right now solely

So unlike before, where the few stockpiled the wealth and let everyone beneath them fester in the
gutter and develop funny accents we have now reached a point where the few stockpile previously
unimaginable degrees of wealth and actually have the balls to tell people to their face that they
are the benefactors of society at large, the job creators, the innovators, the Masters of The
Universe.
What has changed, really? We're "rich enough" to consider throwing scraps at the emaciated hounds
that compromise three fourths of the world's population, instead of how previously we just kind
of trampled over them and hoped they don't get too pissy about it and if they did get pissy about
it we were fully in our rights to shoot them?

>Africa enjoys a comparatively better mortality rate than it has at any point in it's history.
Africa has been and continues to be exploited mercilessly, it makes little difference in the end
if currently there are fewer people dying which is probably due to the higher population density
>we ARE actually doing something about it.
The reality is that we're merely pretending to do something about it, because the reality is that
we can't really do anything about it, not with the current order of things, not with the current
attitudes and ideologies.

no no no no.
Do you really think that the pioneers of agriculture or the machinery used to massively rake in
all that produce did it for cash? THE PIONEERS OF AGRICULTURE WERE AROUND BEFORE ANY FORM OF
CURRENCY.....
Jesus fucking titties.
Poverty?....dude it's a house made out of wood, not money.
Do you think the people who first designed supercomputers did it for cash?
