That's what's sad about it. A cat may not understand death, but it can love. It doesn't
understand why his friend or possibly mate won't run away from with him as they get more and more
attention. Eventually it probably had no choice but to run away or it was taken to the pound.

I'm no philosopher, but I think it may be because we as the audience know the one cat is
deceased, but the other cat may not know that (I'm not a biologist either), so we see the cat as
being confused as to why his friend isn't moving, as said by >>1798272
When the cat curls up next to the deceased one, and rests its head on it's neck, it's similar to
how dogs sometimes won't leave their master's graves if they recently died.
Also the people's reactions added to the somber tone, how they stood back for a minute and just
thought about it.

The cat in the right circumstances would have tried to eat him. Same goes when a human dies and
he owns cats...they'll eat the shit out of him. I don't think cats feel the sadness of death the
way we do since they are not fully able to comprehend it.
