And if you obey the voice they don't and take on a slightly different art style. Probably some kind of statement on the difficulty of making your own choices. However; Choice seems to be less of a factor than obedience or disobedience. Black and white. And the reward for being obedient, in contrast to the punishment for being disobedient, carried little to no emotional weight. I'd say it's a gripping piece of wisdom...
