  I have always really liked this flash. If I had been in Germany at that time, I probably would
  have been sucked in to the rhetoric and propapaganda of the Nazi party. It just goes to show how
  powerful mass consciousness can be, and what terrible lengths people can go to when they are

  They needed an internal scapegoat to unite the people against.
  The nazi party spoke of better times through hardship. About brother and sisterhood. How germany
  would ruise together as a family. People were hopeful and were drawn to it. Not to mention the
  powerful gesture they adopted in greeting.

  Yeah we can probably talk all we want and make guesses to how people would have felt before the
  wars started.
  But history books are usually poor guides to the past.
