in my personal opinion...
RS was its own game. It had its own style, its own combat system, its own concepts that made it
different from other MMOs. nearly ALL MMO's have the same combat system of multiple abilities on
cooldowns, different based on class type. EoC effectively removed the biggest chunk of the game
that separated it from other MMOs. Now it just feels like a really cheap knock-off of WoW.
Anyways, thats just my two cents.

I love mage characters, and while the rune system is somewhat unique, it's tedious and boring as
fuck for beginner players
Oh you want to be a mage? Well for the first 30 levels you'll never have more than 3 useful
spells, which cost runes to cost. What you don't have any runes? Well first do this 215 minute
fetch quest in which you will literally walk back and forth across the map 3-5 times. Then you
have to go to either of those locations, which could be 20 minutes away from where you are and
spend another 30 minutes mining for a significant supply. Now you need to enchant these blank
runes. What? Heavens no! I can't enchant them! And even though I'm a super important wizard
you'll have to find the area to enchant EACH INDIVIDUAL TYPE OF RUNE yourself!
Have fun hitting the enemy with AIR.
