I made two balls in the drums, a huge shaft up until the first and made the dickhead in the
first. It sounded glorious.

Can someone who is music explain how these things ALWAYS sound awesome no matter what you do
Is it like, some tempo thing that is just universally appeasing?
Also I have wanted a multi-instrument Tonematrix for ages, thanks OP

The note frequencies are spaced at intervals so that, if they're played right next to each other,
they won't sound like ass and in fact are pretty pleasing to the ear. If the note matrix was
chromatic (like a piano) it would probably sound pretty horrifying.

Not completely sure, but gonna try and work this out. In laymans, if the notes were numbers from
1 to 100, your saying instead of these notes being 1-2-3-4-5-6, it'd be more like 1-4-7-10 ecc,
so that there's a buffer that keeps them from conflicting?
At least, that's what it sounds like you mean, if so it makes perfect sense to me now, kinda like
colors just with sound.

Yep, that's exactly it.
