  It isn't a shit film that guy just doesn't like Von Trier's style is all.

  Apparently he got the idea for the film after watching a documentary that showed just how brutal
  life is for animals in the wild away from human environments. He uses the theme of chaos to
  contrast how much safer and orderly the built environment is than the wilderness it comes from.

  Some have also interpreted the film as having some misogynist overtones for reasons you'll
  understand when you see it.

  You definitely should watch it, goddamit. Although I agree that this movie may not be for
  everyone, if you dig that von Trier style, then the movie may be legitimately scary at times.
