Actually Putin did bring something back, this Anthem, just with different lyrics.
Under Yeltsin they had a different anthem which was very unpopular.

Though based on how liberal Gorbachev was, if there was a USSR in 2013 it would have likely
resembled the flavor of communism that China currently has, where you're basically "free" so long
as you say the right things. But communism is an obsolete system, capitalism is the way to go
with the current environment. A lot of people (i.e. the KPRF) think communism was better because
of how much Russia has become a parody of itself since becoming "democratic", but that's just
because of shock therapy wrecking shit in the 90's. Given another 20 years, I'm sure we'll be a
superpower again, considering how much the EU has been fucking up lately.
