While I personally disagree (the personalities were a lot better and more distinct between the
pair in the JP for instance,) I will agree that this is easily one of the best English dubs out
there, and easily worth watching alongside the original.

It's a joke ending, they're making fun of other anime that pull shit like that. The only times
Gainax has revisited old properties was Diebuster (an interquel to Gunbuster) and the Eva reboot
movies, each of which happened some 10+ yeares after the originals, so even if they DO decide to
do something else with P&S... enjoy waiting until 2019
