He's seriously complaining about "character development" in a horror movie.
"Characters" in horror movies are made to be killed. The fact that the two in the bathroom live
til the very final moments of the film speaks quite a bit for the longevity of these people.
(With the doctor actually living and the second person only confirmed dead in a later film, and
only died after the point in time when credits start to roll)
