It seems like if you have the missing ingredients in your hand you can play those and get the point anyways.

Basically, both you and the woman are throwing ingredient cards into the middle. When you lay down a recipe card, it will compare to all the ingredients listed during the final tally. If there are an appropriate amount of ingredients to cook these weird ass pies, the items will be consumed and you get a point. If not, the recipe is discarded and the process continues. As you get points, you can unlock different clothes/items/levels of nudity by clicking the multiple boxes after the points have been awarded. bottom left should show a total of points used and your cap from points earned. -Recipes can be seen better if you hover over them.

The objective is to place a pie when there's enough ingredients to make it, which scores you a point. You always have to place at least one ingredient, but not always a pie. Hitting "bake the pie" will end the turn and get you more ingredients, hitting recipe will get you more pies. At the end, you go through the pile from the bottom, passing out ingredients till you hit pies. If the pie is legal, the ingredients get removed and the person gets a point, if not, it goes back into your recipe stack for the next round. If you have any ingredients in your hand in this stage, you can use them to finish any of your pies, so it's a good idea to have quite a few. Every point you get lets you strip a piece of clothing and/or add a special item. I assume finishing all your pies gets a bonus as well, I'll see if I can manage. Mostly a memory game, really.
