Also when you are in the equip menu you can use your curser to click your inventory items, like the actual stuff you pick up, and that uses them, one other thing to note in the inventory is that some of the treasures you find do things but it wont tell you what, i have had things that restore and take away health to putting back on clothes to making you invincible, so yeah, that is what i found.
