Am I the only one bothered by made up or exaggerated translations?
"Dare desu ka?!" --> direct trans = "who is?!" ( probably meaning "who [are you talk to]?!"
their translation is "so you do like her!"

hmm. I don't need any of that right now. Thanks for the warning. I actually haven't seen the
whole show but I recognized the girl probably from youtube videos or here on /f/ I'm already
overwhelmed with her kawaiijutsu. I don't want to have my heart broken by an imaginary girl
(again)

Yeah, there are more than a few things wrong with the subtitles. But it's comprehensible, so who
cares?

yeah i don't know what the direct translation is of that but it's the simple things that bother
me lol I mean when they add details that don't need to be in there.

a sad cry or a happy cry? Angel Beats made me cry out of happiness...I'm almost certain that is
the only time I've ever cried out of joy/happiness/love in my entire life.

I'm too unstable lately to take that risk. Not that I would go suicidal over an anime or
something lol but it just doesn't help my day/week lol

I have a feeling that you don't actually speak Japanese, do you? Maybe you understand some
phrases or sentences, but what you are saying is sort of contrary to the use of the language as a
whole.
When you are translating into English, you absolutely DO need to use "details" that aren't
explicit in the text, because so much is intentionally omitted in normal speech.

yeah I'm not fluent with it nor did I ever claim to be.
I was talking about when a more litteral translation is better instead of adding the subber's own
flavor. Sometimes I'll be watching an anime, hear a line, read the subs then say "huh? that's not
what he said..."
I understand "literal vs context." That is a huge thing about Japanese which you don't need to
study the language to know...

Better quality I think, but still not great. 10MB maximum H.263 video sucks, even for a clip as
short as this.
