so i'm new to mahjong; why does it keep giving me the oppurtunity to ron, but then tells me no
multiplier?

you can declare ron when you have 4 sets(hands) and 2 pairs (there are 2 exceptions to my
knowledge, but you dont need to know that if you are starting)
it tell you you dont have a multiplier (fan) because to win points you need to fulfill some
preset "conditions", like having no "end"tiles (no 1 or 9 in any set of hands) or having atleast
1 set of the dragon tiles (red green and white), those "conditions" are called yakus
you can check them here
