  If you like anime but you've never seen NGE, you should.

  It's kind of a seminal work, and the new movie remakes have modern animation quality as well. The
  final movie isn't even out yet.

  End of Evangelion, but Rebuild is optional.

  NGE is definitely a series you want to watch, though. Not necessarily because it's good (it is
  pretty good), but because it was fairly influential and is an important series in anime history.
