[_] [G] Metallurgy alchemy Anon 1526102 I've been working on this in what little time I've had the last couple of days. It's nowhere near completed yet. Lemme know if there's any glaring mistakes I may have overlooked. And I'm open to any suggestions. Marked for deletion (old).
>> [_] Anon 1526115 I'm not sure what you're trying to do with this? It's kind of interesting I guess, some kind of record of what recipes you used to make each alloy would be nice. Maybe add a purity rating so you can refine your recipes. Still not sure how to intentionally do anything though, in my attempts to make bismuth bronze or even basic bronze I kept making snargle bronze. I made iron and pig iron with no clue how. I've no clue how to make steel either despite my attempts, I take it I need more than just flux, coal and iron?
>> [_] Anon 1526132 I made steel and pearlsteel. No idea how, the formula seems to change each time. The basic idea seems to have stuff from each of the four rows. Steel came from combining stuff on the left side (with iron obviously), pearlsteel came about from the same using arcane oil.
>> [_] Anon 1526138 Yeah, it's definitely random. It's not easy to figure out when the same formula yields different things each time. I guess the best you can do is pay attention to the elemental levels. This formula leads to several types of steel, pig iron, and adamantium: iron dolomite iron dolomite flux arcane_oil iron (dolomite iron dolomite)
>> [_] Anon 1526173 I made "Aurorun". I have no idea what that is.
>> [_] Anon 1526198 Three suggestions and one correction: * Shouldn't dragon blood have more fire in it? * Also, IIRC, the ancients believed that the "noble metals" - particularly gold - had a fair bit of fire in them (hence the shine). * Maybe you could allow the player to unlock new ingredients as he progresses, as is sometimes the case with these kinds of games. * Nickel is misspelled "nickle" in the game.
>> [_] Anon 1526208 >># Not the maker, but Dragon's Blood makes the fire you have go WILD. Add a firegem and dragon's blood and see.
>> [_] Anon 1526238 first of all, you should really consider checking http://www.mindat.org/ or even fucking wikipedia. second, how bout sulfur?! you cant begin to talk about modern or mythic metallurgy and alchemical reactions without sulfur (pyrites, sulfates, etc) also, lol at acid making things more stable. There's a reason most mineralogy labs have done away with acid testing, and its not just the advent of XRD or spectrometry.
>> [_] Anon 1526242 Also, micas and serpentines are hydrated phyllosillicates, heating them releases loads of water.
>> [_] Anon 1526244 /f/-Alchemy
>> [_] Anon 1526248 >># /f/ and /tg/ are the most productive of all the discussion image-boards on 4chan. Of course this excludes /p/, /i/, /ic/, etc.
>> [_] Anon 1526253 >>* Shouldn't dragon blood have more fire in it? Dragons blood multiplies fire
>> [_] Anon 1526291 The notes lie. I've made several things by having elements maxed out. For instance, Fever iron.
