The whole Pokemon series makes it pretty clear that all the kids are idiots who have no idea what
they're talking about 99% of the time. That's why Oak hands out pokedexes to everyone and does
nothing else, he a scientist who knows what "publicly funded research" is really like and has to
spend 24 hours a day at the computer just to pick an occasional testable hypothesis out of the
endless stream of bullshit the kids send him.
