This show suffers from the same problem that plagues other, "we r total srs" animu lately such as
Muv-love for example. The attempt to portray a grim dark and hopeless setting is completely
undercut by fucking goofy as hell monster designs and studio-mandated cute harem hijinks
interludes. That's when they're not just trying WAAAAAYYY too hard to bludgeon you over the head
with symbolism ala Attack on Titan.

Watchmen is how you do a story where the villain wins that is still a good story. Yes the Villain
wins, but his goals were admirable even if his methods were extreme. Also, the heroes learned and
grew from their experiences.
So many second-rate writers have gotten it into their heads that if they just write a story where
the Hero is a complete fuck up and fails at everything and the Villain is too cool and edgy 4 u
and always wins, then their show is somehow "deep" just because it is contrarian. Protip" it's
