The heat of the launching capsule, plus a leak in the make of the capsule itself, caused the air to slowly leak out...and she fell unconscious long before it cooked her to death...and during her travel through space...she eventually froze. Forever asleep...never to see her friends again. (I have a fairly decent memory for the original story of this flash.)
