Called names and outcasted.
But I grew up and I got over it.
I think it made me a better person, because I think twice before rebuking someone.

Of course they should differentiate between those two different words. It's the difference
between TSU and YAN. They don't even have to know the meanings because they're two different
words, and usually, two words don't mean the same thing.

When I was young, I decided that cutting my hair was stupid.
Why should I remove a part of myself just to follow a social convention?
Why should I believe that I have to rely on body-modification in order to better myself?
So I've never cut my hair short.
As a child, when hair styles are all that set our genders apart from androgyny, I was teased and
called a girl by many (gay wasn't a thing yet).
As a teen, when the rest of the world sees us as angsty and rebellious, I was judged and called a
metalhead or hippie by many.
Now, as an adult, when we are most expected to follow the traditions of modern culture, I receive
praise and envious comments from many; most notably from men who wish they had the "dedication"
or "courage" to have grown their hair out.
I answer them now as I always have:
I'm not a freak of nature or superhero, not a rebel nor trendsetter.
I'm not a person who decided to grow their hair long.
I'm a person who decided to not cut their hair short.

Am I mentally disturbed or emotionally scarred from all the teasing?
Nope.
Am I angry or disheartened by the right-wing prejudice?
Not a bit.
I've always known social conformity was a fad and anyone caught up in it are the drones that
power our society.
I leave them to their devices and carry on with my day.
Whenever I hear a sob story about bullying and emotional displacement from a less-than-perfect
childhood, I have no empathy.
The speaker in the video needs to man up and realize that sticks and stones are actually worse
than words, because they cause physical and residual damage universally in all societies.
Words and language/culture dependent and if you were to cuss out a little chinese boy on the
other side of the world he would probably think you're insane and then go eat a popsicle with his
friends.

If you're stupid enough to take spitballs to heart, then you aren't worth anyone's pity.
I'm not saying you have to like it, only a masochist would, but if people are teasing you for
being fat then DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
I grew up in the 20th century, kids weren't on the internet yet, but we watched TV and went to
the movies.
We sometimes even went to the gym with our moms when they wanted to work out and we weren't
allowed to stay at home alone.
We may have even had proper PE in schools.
Kids in the 21st century today have zero excuse to not know about absolutely everything there
ever was or is, because of the internet.
My point is, everyone knows what exercise is and what effects it has on the body.
If people are making fun of you for being a fat slob, you can either not care, or you can start
working out.

As for the girl with the massive birthmark:
Sorry, kids are stupid and will always pick on other kids for these sort of things, you'll have
to just learn that their opinion is literally valueless and wait for them to grow up.
You'll never make it in life as a model, not because you're ugly, but because a giant birthmark
would distract from the product being sold, which goes against marketing sense.
Nothing personal toots, get over it, you don't see women complaining about being physically
incapable of a lumberjack job and it's for the same reason: you just weren't born with the
required traits.

Go watch Pay it Forward (2001) and then talk to me about tragic bullying.
I'm not trying to be an internet tough guy here, I'm just trying to put the OP video into the
perspective of the big picture so others can see how silly it is.

It's pretty clear there's more going on his life, though. He lives with his grandmother. I
consider myself pretty lucky to have two parents, let alone one, let alone none.
The big thing about bullying is the sheer exclusion. It's one thing to have mean comments made
towards you, and another to never have friends or positive contact with other people. He pretty
clearly makes his point that it went further than being mean, they were excluded, hence them
refusing to leave the classroom or interact with other kids in the playground.

Mental conditions are very similar to physical ones. I think more people need to realize that
there's no good in actually trying connect mental problems with personality.
Depression is the same as stressing a leg until it breaks. It depends on the pressure, sure, but
that varies. Can someone be so tuff and kewl they just "tough out" schizophrenia or epilepsy?

required medication. You were probably just feeling like a bit of a bitch for a while.
Many depressed people love the world and have nothing wrong in their lives, barring that their
