The intro and outro are from Dog World, a failed pilot that Justin Roiland was working on.
Well, not really failed. He just didn't want to work on it much longer.
In fact S1 is so great because almost all of it is based on old sketches/improv they did.
Which is why once it drags on to S3 or so it might not be as great.
Regular Show is the same thing essentially.
I wouldn't mind if this ends after season 2.
