Opened task manager, forcequit firefox, restored session, moved tabs I wanted to new window, and
closed old window.

Sadly this is one thing they haven't even bothered to address AT ALL.
WHATWG have went through everything else and fixed the shit mistakes made by W3C, but this is one
that they haven't for some reason.
There really should be a max number of tabs / windows that a website can open by default before
it asks permission to open up another set up to max*2, and again, and again.
Equally preventing websites from opening up external sources in a tab / window unless you give it
permission. For the extremely few websites that actually do it (which you could whitelist), it
wouldn't cause any harm.
