And if there are dark skinned guys then they are usally either jerks or really tough guys. Just look thru a few anime and see for yourself. A good example would be school rumble. Harima (or how he's written..) is tough as a brick and rather dark skinned compared to others in the series and all the girls (besides that mexican(?) one..) are almost pale. That's again because it's usally the working class that has a darker skin colour. (Harima is also portrayed as a bit stupid..) Concerning the real life photos: Again... Light sikn is the ideal of beauty... If you consider yourself less beautiful you are less likely to take pictures of yourself and vice versa. Hence the reason there are a lot more pictures of light skinned japanese. Also the 'working class' has less money to spend on a camera... It's really as simple as that...
