It's sad that Youtube has to reward people for collecting loads of subscribers. It just means
more lowest-common-denominator dreck like what Hollywood does, and the vast majority subscribe to
the same handful of channels.

OK. Here's why that's not going to happen.
Youtube has to pay for bandwidth and storage for all of those videos. Are you going to pay
directly for a youtube subscription? Is anyone else? Of course not. So you have advertising.
Advertising makes money from eyeballs, so Youtube incentivizes content creators to pull in more
viewers and we wind up with dreck like this.
Any viable solution has to be something that allows their business to continue. So far,
advertising is the only solution.

Ad revenue is based on minutes now.

Not even animators can make money on that shithole now. They are all fucking off from the site
entirely, or doing their own in-video advertising via sponsorship.
This is the only way niche interests can raise money for their channels now.
It is sickening.
Fuck Youtube. I hope it and Google die fucking horribly. Literally the most cancerous company in
existence.
They are worst than Microsoft now.
I even consider Bing Maps better than Google Maps now, that recent GM update is awful as fuck.
The site is disgustingly ugly now, has so many bugs, is slower, more pixelated, LESS information,
street view is downright impossible to use on some older computers and phones now, it is laggy as
fucking hell.
I'm still not going to use Bing Maps though. Holy fuck.

Good for them. I think the unfortunate reality of Youtube is that it can't afford to host all of
the content it gets. It'll either have to start being selective about the videos it accepts,
which will be good for popular content creators and bad for everyone else; or it'll always just
run at a loss and suck for anyone trying to make money.
