You should've seen what happened when he announced he was working on a new game, 0x10c. Before
he'd even released a prototype, the fans had created emulators, toolchains and operating systems
for the proposed in-game computer. Some were even messing around with real hardware based on it.
Notch quickly gave up on the idea, so the fans decided that they would make the game instead.
Years later and they have a prototype that's complete garbage.
