[_] New Toys for /f/ (hit reply ----->) Anonymous 09/15/14(Mon)12:18 No.2528687
I apologize for namefagging. I've made a couple of new toys for /f/ to play with that I'm hoping
will bring a breath of fresh air to the stagnant Flash imageboard community.
First up, demonstrated by the file I've uploaded, is a web app to create SWF files that stream
videos from YouTube instead of converting them to the pixelated, short duration crap we're always
seeing. The player itself is credited to a "Mr. Kidnapper". All I did was turn it into a web app
simple enough for a braindead ape to use.
You can find it here:

Marked for deletion (old).
>> [_] Aedako !HKurZA0.WE 09/15/14(Mon)12:19 No.2528690
The other is a program for modifying SWF files without the need for a decompiler. You can extract
media from files, import new media, move it between two different files, remove crappy Sothink
watermarks, remove penises, and much more. It is a work in progress but relatively useful as is.
A wall of text describing it:

Keep in mind, I am trying to do a nice thing for you. Please keep the criticism down to a
deafening roar.
Yes, I know The Dark Crystal sucks. I was trying to think of a long, high quality video on
YouTube and it's what I found first.

i think uploading flashes of purely static content is deprecated anyway. the only point of flash
is to display NON-static content.
so both flashes for ants (because they only display a video for which this isnt the point) AND
flashes needin 3rdparty servers for their huge media (which we can view as youtube embed on any
other board) need to go

I think this is really big. Its like we have video board now. What is interesting to me is legal
problems that this may create. For example someone will upload copyrigted Hollywood movies to yt

legal issues.

Also /f/ is probably the most hostile 'community' towards people that actually create flashes

YouTube's automatic copyright detection is pretty good these days. I made a couple videos of

So you had to pay some kind of fee or something? Also, I think youtube has better sound
comparison algorithms than video ones. I saw some videos with like extra framing around it, and
the audio seemed to be unchanged. My guess is that it checks for video compatibility first, and
if it passes, it doesn't check for audio after.

You are a dummy, you're supposed to download flashes from /f/ and YouTube videos from YouTube. I
go to flash to see flashes and I go to YouTube to watch YouTube videos. These 3kb YouTube flashes
defeat the purpose of even having /f/. /f/ is for low size content that can be downloaded and
view later, even offline, and also messing around with the interactive and/or programmable
features of the shockwave flash format. Using flash to show a YouTube video is like making a
video slideshow of your vacation photos instead of just sharing the pictures, it doesn't really
do any harm, but it's kind of annoying, and it makes it harder for people to save the bikini
pictures to masturbate to later.

>/f/ is very hostile
Not if you aren't a gigantic faggot! We helped the guy who made the shota fuck flash, the Zelda
blowjob flash and the furry 2d fighting flash.
So if you don't like it that we shit on RockCandy than you should really reevaluate the situation
before claiming things.

You can just save the swf, and open yt link later. Also what is the purpose of messing with swf
that is plain conversion of youtube video? I think this is great thing because you don't have to
convert shitty vids from yt anymore.

You know, I really do agree with you. /f/ is for Flash. However, take a look at the index right
now. The board is full of YouTube rips. It's going to be full of YouTube rips regardless of what
you or I want. I made that utility to try and at least mitigate the problem so the rips can
easily be identified, be high quality, link to the sources that nobody is capable of finding on
their own, and to provide some relief to swfchan so it doesn't become a YouTube mirror.
Obviously, the files will not work offline or when YouTube invariably decides to delete them.
Then again, are they really worth saving to begin with?

Yes, /f/ is full of youtube rips. Do you want to have even more?
It's one thing when someone needs to download a youtube video, download converter, play with
settings until he gets decent quality and the filesize under 10Mb. Uploader would at least think
if this video is good enough to spent time on it (even if it's just 5 minutes).
Now the process will become completely streamlined. You don't need to think of anything, 2 clicks
and swf is ready. Now there's no file limit to stop you from from posting 20 minute long show.
Nothing prevents you from embedding 1 hour long Let's Plays. And I'm sure there will be an autist
who will start spamming them.

IT'S EVEN BIGGER CANCER THAN I THOUGHT.
You can embeds videos with fucking annotations. Those annotations do work. People can post videos
from their channels with huge "SUBSCRIBE NOW / VISIT MY CHANNEL" annotation boxes. And most
importantly they get plus one video view. They can literally earn money by posting videos here.
