i don't see why people like this thing so much. It's awkward to play, the characters are poorly
drawn and the actual artstyle isn't very good either.

You're not missing anything. It's hyped because it's a somewhat original idea and people like
stuff like this. Unfortunately it's furry shit and like you said: very poorly drawn.
The script-based box2d animation also looks really awkward, so I'm not sure even good drawings
could save it.
Great concept, but until it has proper art and animations the game will be shit.
