  Anyone who shits on Shinji needs to examine themselves more thoroughly.
  He literally tries his best and does nothing wrong (except for the hospital scene in EoE). He is
  a 14 year old boy. I guarantee you shits would probably either be much more whiny than he is over
  the course of the series, or try to be "hard" and end up either crippling/killing yourself or
  eventually having a huge mental breakdown and become completely incapable within like 3 episodes.
