The Beeltes were the One Direction of the 60s.

One direction is more like the monkeys. Popular and the name will be remembered, but never made
anything profound and all their songs will be forgotten.

not overly a fan of the beatles, but I do recognize that they made music change. Pop at first
then transitioned to something totally different than anything else prior. Not just "we came to
prominence with other groups, and at the end of a salient era we were the only ones left to
define a genre with" like a multitude of rock derived bands.
It's something excruciatingly few groups (pop, rock, etc) managed. For that they have my respect.
But damn if I can't listen to most of their stuff.

Yeah, they literally revolutionized rock, experimenting and adding personal style, where before
it was for the most part just following 12-bar blues musical style.
They are probably still the definitive artist/band of the 20th century.

Perhaps my favorite animated film of all time.

I don't even think One Direction's name will be remembered ten years from now, let alone fifty.
