I guess they would be better suited to be demons or to compare them to a more fantasy based
creature maybe an ogre (or even possibly an orc).
Regardless, calling them a goblin belittles what they would be, since goblins are pretty dumb
creatures and oni are just annoying in popular modern culture.

depicting goblins that are not tengu but look much like oni. E.g. The Goblin of Adachigahara
