in general it's referencing the etrian odyssey series, more specifically about how optional
mini-bosses (foes) which are usually as difficult or more difficult to defeat than normal bosses
on a specific floor, traverse around the map and coerce you into an encounter, sometimes even
while you're in another battle. you are most likely fucked if you did not want to initiate the
battle yourself.
