Context: the building was constructed with three stories instead of the two in the original
blueprint, weakening it. Later, the building owners decided a support on the second floor was
unsightly, so they removed it. The third floor began to sag, so they filled it in with grout.
Then, some Jews decided they wanted to cram a few hundred family members and friends on the top
floor of a cut-rate building for a wedding. Comedy ensued. 23 deaths, 380 injuries.
