Yuyushiki is my favorite anime and K-ON is shit. Cute-girls-doing-cute-things shows don't have to
have a plot or more than minor character development, but K-ON is a fucking cocktease with all
the episodes about improving as a band and then NOT DOING THAT AT ALL and going back to eating

The anime cuts out a lot of the important development in the end that brings it to light though
and puts things into perspective.
That and the fact that the anime is from a semi-neutral point of view more than it is from
Kyousuke's like the LN breaks down the impact of him as an unreliable narrator.
