I wouldn't recommend playing it if you have no idea what happened in the previous games. Overall pretty decent games, in terms of single player I preferred Dawn of War 2 over 1, however as game I'd say Dawn of War 1 is better. At very young ages and then given the geneseed. With most chapters keeping recruits away from outside of the chapter so it's all they know. None of the Primarchs even had children.
