  Currently, my raw clicker dmg is about 15mil, but my actual damage is 25 bil due to the upgrades
  from DPS characters.

  Then when I activate all my buffs I go up to close to 200x damage for 30 seconds.

  The upgrades I've got so far that do it:

  Treebeast Lvl 100
  Ivan's 100
  Fisherman's 100
  Betty's 100
  Mercede's 100
  Sir George's 100

  After any of these upgrades, its well worth anything to upgrade your DPS in any way
  and those "Increase dps by x% for y Hero/s" are definitely something to aim for.

  In regard to Cid upgrades, upgrade them all the way. Cid scales with your dps so my clicks do
  retarded damage right now and when I activate all my abilities I clear floors in seconds.

  Until you have every character with every upgrade I highly doubt it's efficient to spend that
  much gold for such low damage increases. When I have every character I might go back and get
  everyone to lvl 1000 but until then it's best to have as many bonuses for the entire party that
  you possibly cann.

  well, you will get most of your early souls from leveling up your heroes, 10 souls and you will
  see a 100% increase in dps from no souls so you get back to where you were faster. After level
  100 every 5 levels there is a chance that one of the bosses we bee all glowy and cough up some
  souls when you kill them, every 100 lvls the boss will always have souls to give.

  I don't know about you guys, but I find it hard to decide when to ascend. I've only ascended
  once, and that was at lvl 144. It started me back at lvl 1 as if I was starting the game all over
  again, except I had accumulated 17 hero souls (which gave me a bonus of + 170% DPS).

  Currently I'm at lvl 299, half of my characters are leveled > 1000 (btw your characters get x4
  DPS bonus every 25 levels starting at 200 (or 225? i think) and at level 1000 gets a x10 DPS
  bonus), and I keep pushing not sure when to just ascend and start over again. By this point I've
  accumulated a lot of hero souls, but I feel like if I can keep going, besides, every 10 levels
  you "gild" one of your characters which increases their damage.

  tl;dr: its subjective when to ascend and you start back over with a DPS bonus based on how many
  hero souls you have
