I know my opinion means literally fuck all but I think Steam selling a much nicer version of this
game for 15$ to support the original creator is perfectly fine solely because it's a very fun
game, and while it being free is absolutely great (and as people said you can still easily find
for free all over the internet) it's not BAD to support the person who created it. In return you
get a more refined, prettier version of the game.
If that's not your cup of tea, then just play the free version and don't bitch that you don't get
the nicer things. Them being worth 15$ or not is irrelevant in that you do it to support the guy

People pay for games at $15. They pay for them a LOT at those prices.
In fact, if the major game industry in general dropped prices to even $30 areas, they'd sell
considerably more than double the games and less people would trade them in, meaning less second
hand copies, meaning more demand for primary copies.
And more people would pick games up at random outside of their usual interests since they are so
much cheaper.

there's something you seem unable to get through your exceedingly thick skull, and that is that
just because other games are expensive, $15 is not necessarily a justifiable price. i'm not sure

small amount of money does not mean $15 is a reasonable price.*
DID YOU GET THAT? RELATIVELY LOW PRICES ARE NOT NECESSARILY FAIR PRICES.
LET ME GIVE A FEW MORE EXAMPLES TO DEMONSTRATE THIS VERY SIMPLE POINT.
$5 IS NOT A LOT OF MONEY. THAT DOES NOT MEAN IT WOULD BE REASONABLE TO PRICE APPLES AT $5 AN
APPLE.
$10 IS NOT A LOT OF MONEY. THAT DOES NOT MEAN IT WOULD BE REASONABLE FOR A COMPANY TO SELL

no because if more people would buy it at a lower price then maybe it's not worth so much.
to give a more extreme example, if i charged $100 for an apple and 1 person bought it, and then i
charged $1 for one apple and 300 people bought it, then the apple is more fairly priced lower.
just because it's possible for it to sell to a small amount of people at higher prices doesn't

Oh? Clearly the market is fine with $15 games.
Last I checked games were selling like crazy on Steam.
Meanwhile expensive games sitting up there at $60, barely anyone buys them these days and chooses
to go to the 2nd hand market, which is massively larger than it should be.
The market already decided those games, for the majority, weren't worth the price.

See the example I typed above.
You already aren't the target market for games.
Sorry, you ain't getting your $2 games. Cheapo.

I think the amount of people who would buy the game if it was sold for $5 but not if it was sold
for $15 isn't enough that more money would be made charging a lower price.
