If the police and the community trust each other and aren't afraid of each other, then they'll never assume the worst of each other and shit like this won't happen. However, it's really hard to trust the police who victimize you and people you know, especially when you know that the cop's most fundamental job is to enforce the government's will and protect its interests. What happens if you go against the government's desires, such as protesting?
