80 to 89 gives you 72

that the way it works there is only one symbol you can choose and they switch all of the choices
symbols (including the one you chose) to make it look more authentic. same with the extra listings

the string "XY" can be expressed as (10X)+Y
10X + Y - (X+Y) = 10X - X + Y - Y = 10X - X = 9X
First digit is canceled out, and rendered irrelevant
Every multiple of 9 has the same symbol, reflecting every possible outcome, for each 10s digit
choice.
