Part of horror is suspense. For example, as it's the first spooky scene in the music video,
Mullholand Drive's dirty hobo was an effective scene as it spent a lot of time building up to it.
So much time that viewer might expect nothing at all to happen. It's very out of place with the
rest of the movie up to that point, making it all the more scary.
