Drones work just fine. This entire movie has a shitty premise. Just accept the fact that it is a reboot of Japanese mecha shows in a live-action setting. I like that aspect, and it is just fine. The previous argument, that suspension of disbelief is broken, is completely valid.

The kaiju will leave a big path of destruction and there is Kaiju Blue. If you have the Kaiju bleed to death it also causes an environmental disaster.
