It always kills me when people say it takes no skill to make electronic music.

It matters on how they make it.
This is skill.
Sitting on the computer and copy and pasting shit into a program and hitting play takes no skill.
This shit is skill, skrillex isn't.

>knowing how to arrange isn't a skill
I'm not even this type of musician and I can tell you it takes a TON of skill. This guy is much
more skilled, sure, but being good at arranging, mixing, and mastering clips in a studio is not
easy.

>This is skill
This is fake. All of this is entirely premade

The thing is, artists used to do both. People who criticize electronic music and then go listen
to their Iggy and One Direction albums are hypocrites because nowadays there are companies who
write songs and artists who perform them.
The comparison instead is usually made between something like Bohemian Rhapsody and a random
electronic album. Queen wrote, produced, and PLAYED the song. This is different from simply
writing and arranging the piece.

Even if it is premade, have you ever done something as tremendous as this?
No?
Are you making money from what you do?
Probably.
But this guy's having a good time, and people enjoy his work, and that's all that matters. Go do
what you love, come back, and post it here, then you might have some room to speak, and we'll
enjoy what you do.

I'm not talking about the sounds.
To sit there, program and memorize and hit the buttons in the way of a piano or any other kind of
instrument takes timing, rhythm, and memorizing without messing up at all.
If he did it in the way as I said before as if he just copy and pasted the shit into a program
and hit play on the computer, I wouldn't have said he had skill as from trial and error you can
get down just right from seeing what you're doing.
To do this in one sitting is skill.

Sure it displays a lot of skill, but there really isn't much appealing about a live performance
of this.
Especially since the sound doesn't emanate from the device itself like analog instruments.
It would sound exactly the same if it wasn't actually creating the sounds, just lighting up, and
a prerecorded track played over it.
